About this collection

Stereoscopic photographs became quite prevalent and popular in the late 19th and early 20th century. Most stereoscopic methods presented two offset images appearing to the left and right eyes of the viewer which, when seen through a stereoscopic viewer combine in the brain to give a perception of 3D. This collection is a varied assortment of stereo views, most from the turn of the century, and provides a detailed look at a very fascinating, bygone medium.
